Support staff are trained in the following areas:

- UMAB (Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour)
Safe Management
- Crisis intervention/prevention
- Understanding of persons and families with complex care needs

- Aspects of confidentiality
- First Aid and CPR
- Emergency (fire, evacuation etc.) procedures
- Medication Administration
- Development of individualized Care and Support plans
- Quality Assurance and Accountability
In addition to training, support staff have a minimum college diploma in a related field and positive reference validations along with a rigorous background check.
Support staff understand and are committed to the time, effort, creativity and diplomacy required to ensure the best possible care for the individuals in our care and their families. They continuously reflect on the fundamental values that encourage:

Our team has a history of positive partnership and collaboration with outside resources such as agencies, schools, health professionals to offer individuals in our care access to additional supports that address their treatment needs and goals.
