About Us
OFGH was established to meet the unique and diverse support needs of children and youth working in collaboration with Children’s Aid Society. Our mandate has now grown to include more community agencies in order to help more people achieve their development goals with dignity.
OFGH provides residential support services that reflect assessments and arrangements best suited to each individual’s needs, while also providing structure and routine in a safe home-like environment.

Philosophy
We believe every client has gifts within themselves, and through the provisions of recreational and social opportunities we support them in achieving a sense of belonging.
OFGH encourages independence, creativity and self-expression with a view to building a sense of self-worth and belonging. Our support staff supervise activities of daily living within a small home setting and within the local community to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals. Consultation between supported individuals and their caregivers ensures that planned activities are appropriate and enjoyable, and that activities include those identified in their individual program goals. Programs are structured with limits and predictable routines reflecting individual needs and preferences.
We believe in eliminating barriers that inhibit the ability of persons with developmental needs to exercise their rights, fully participate in community/social living and succeed in their dreams and goals.
We believe in empowering and supporting persons with developmental needs to make their own choices, advocate for themselves, and exercise control over their lives whenever possible. We believe each person needs to be consulted and participate in the process of making decisions that affect their life whenever possible.
We believe in collaborating effectively and creatively with the supported individual, their family and community agencies to achieve each person’s developmental goals.
We believe in Individualized services planned and delivered within a framework of a nurturing, safe and caring environment. We work to support each client’s level of independence and self-confidence while preserving connections with their families.
